Justin "Jinhong" Kim
Justin (Jinhong) Kim, an "amatuer"
photographer, is a first year PhD student in the Department
of Human
Resource Education at UIUC.
He first started taking photographs 4
years
ago, with the worst point-and-shoot camera in the world. However, the
experiences with the bad camera allowed him to see the importance of
composition. He realized that it's possible to take a decent photo ven
with a bad camera, as far as the composition is unique. He has been
learning about digital photography in a rather incidental fashion
(education by ear, that is) from his father, who has recently made a
great career path from an entrepreneur to a photographer, some of his
photographer friends, and several books.
His biggest goal is to take
photos that
"tell a story" to people. He believes that a visual that
is taken
in just a fraction of seconds can still tell a great story to
people,
without having aural or oral explanations. This is the reason
why he
doesn't like to name his photos. He wants his audience to see their own
stories in the photos he takes, and interpretes the photos however they
wish.
Currently, he is an unofficial
photographer for Illinois Leadership Center, and the Department of
Human Resource Education.
The
photos in his photo gallery are taken with Nikon Coolpix SQ, Minolta
A1, and Samsung DSLR GX-10.
