~The Our Town Storytelling Kickoff:

Four professional storytellers will perform.

~2pm at Our Town High School

~7pm at Our Town Library

Our Community: A Bridge Through Time is a program connecting young adults to seniors in order to preserve and share Our Town's memories.

The Plan:

Seniors of our community will share stories about past holidays, reading habits and their life as young adults with high school students at Our Town High School.

These students will then attend workshops along with members of our community to learn to turn their stories into oral presentations.

These stories will then be shared with the entire community at the Our Town Storytelling Festival.

The Our Town Library is concerned with preserving its citizen’s oral history for future generations. By creating this storytelling event, and possible others in the future, it is the Our Town Library hope that these stories willed be told and retold for generations to come.  Creating a connection between community and the Our Town Library will also help to preserve the Library’s mission of freedom of information and promotion of literacy for all.
